James Woelfel

Principal Investigator

James Woelfel is Chairman of the NTCA Technical Committee which writes and edits the NTCA Reference Manual. He is a voting member of both the Tile Council of North America (TCNA) Handbook Committee and the ANSI ASC 108 Committee for Ceramic Tile Installation.  With more than 35 years of tile contracting experience, James is a tireless advocate for the proper installation of ceramic tile and is often called upon to speak at national and international ceramic tile industry events. ​James was named "NTCA Tile Person of the Year" for 2011 and received the prestigious "NTCA Ring of Honor" in 2019 for lifetime achievement in the tile industry.

Chris Woelfel

Partner / Business Operations

With 15 years in the tile business, Chris Woelfel is keenly familiar with national installation standards, manufacturer's installation recommendations and the importance of qualified labor. Often referred to as "the mortar of the firm" Chris handles business operations and account management but can often be found in the field providing inspection support. ​She also serves on the NTCA Technical Committee and is Chair of the Communication Subcommittee sharing the latest installation concerns and cures from the NTCA Reference Manual to membership and the public through the NTCA Technical Committee Update.
